What fits a garage, a basement or a spare room?
Floor. A garage slab takes anything.
Ceiling. You stand well off the floor at the top step, so use the maker's ceiling figure, not a guess. The StairMaster 4G needs an 8-foot ceiling; the 10G calls for 10 feet. Many basements fall short. Measure first.
Doorways and stairs. Measure the narrowest door and tightest turn. Commercial treadmills such as the Precor TRM 835 are 35 inches wide.
Power. Some commercial treadmills, such as the Precor TRM 835, need a dedicated 20-amp circuit. Check the model before you buy.
What does "inspected and serviced" mean?
We employ three technicians. Before a used machine is listed, one of them goes through it. On a treadmill that means belt, deck and motor. On a bike: bearings, belts, resistance, console and pedals. On strength: cables, pulleys, upholstery and welds. Worn parts are replaced where needed. After the sale, we are the ones who service it. Service calls on equipment bought from us are $129 an hour ($129 minimum) in the Treasure Valley, plus $1 per mile each way beyond Caldwell (as of September 2026).
Is there a warranty on used equipment?
Used equipment carries a 90-day guarantee, and that includes the pieces we sell on consignment for customers. Ask which category a machine is in and we will tell you; the guarantee is the same either way.
Do you deliver used equipment?
Locally, yes; we never ship used equipment. Pick it up at 1852 S Century Way, or have us deliver in the Treasure Valley. We also schedule deliveries from Burns, OR to Jackson, WY and in between! We cover all of Southeast Idaho. Garage delivery starts at $179. In-home placement upstairs or downstairs costs extra; with it, we carry the machine in and set it up. Details: delivery and installation.
What should I check before I buy used?
Use it for 2 full minutes at your normal pace. Listen for clicking or grinding. Run speed, incline or resistance from lowest to highest. It should change smoothly. Test every console button, the heart-rate grips and, on a treadmill, the safety key. Rock the frame, seat and handles. Nothing should slip or wobble. On strength, check the cables.
How do I sell my used gym equipment?
Email julian@gymoutfitters.com with the make, model, age and a few photos. We rarely buy used equipment outright; most pieces come in as trade-ins when a customer upgrades, and selected commercial-grade pieces are consigned at a 50/50 split; details on sell or consign used gym equipment.
FAQ: buying used
Can I return equipment?
Once equipment has shipped it cannot be returned. Purchases delivered or picked up in the Treasure Valley can be returned within 30 days; we collect the machine and charge a pickup fee that depends on where it sits in the home (a garage pickup costs less than carrying it down from upstairs). Used and consignment pieces carry a 90-day guarantee.
Do you have used Peloton bikes for sale?
Occasionally. Used Pelotons appear only when one is traded in; one used Peloton spin bike is listed at $550 as of September 2026. If it has sold, the used exercise bike collection has spin, upright and recumbent bikes from $550, all technician-inspected.
Do you have used StairMasters for sale?
Not as of September 2026 — used StairMasters come in occasionally and sell fast; call 208-345-2226 to be told when one arrives. New StairMaster stepmills are in stock — 4G $6,449, 8Gx from $7,895, 10G $13,349 — call to check which is set up on the floor, and mind the ceiling: 8 ft for the 4G, 10 ft for the 10G.
Is a used commercial machine better than a new home machine?
Often. Commercial frames and motors are built to run 18-20 hours a day, and commercial brands generally keep parts available for a decade or more after a model is discontinued; big-box consumer brands often do not.
Call 208-345-2226 or visit 1852 S Century Way, Boise — Mon–Fri 9–6, Sat 9–5, closed Sunday.
