Gym Outfitters has sold and serviced commercial fitness equipment in Boise since 1990. We outfit apartment fitness rooms, hotel gyms, school weight rooms, training studios and corporate wellness rooms in the Treasure Valley. What do apartment, hotel and school gyms actually buy?

Cardio built to run all day: Precor and TRUE treadmills, ellipticals and bikes, StairMaster and TRUE Palisade climbers, and Concept2 rowers, BikeErgs and SkiErgs. For strength: Freemotion and Precor functional trainers, Hoist selectorized machines, Smith machines, racks and benches. A new Concept2 RowErg starts at $1,045.

New or used commercial equipment?

Both work. A used commercial elliptical from us is typically around $1,500. A comparable new one, such as the Precor EFX 835 at $9,999, is about $10,000. Every used unit is inspected and serviced by our technician, and most carry a 90-day warranty. You can mix the two, for example new cardio and used strength. See used equipment in stock.

What should I measure before buying a four-piece apartment gym?

Measure floor space, ceiling height and power before you order. A common four-piece room is a treadmill, an elliptical, a bike and a functional trainer. A Precor TRM 835 treadmill is 83 by 35 inches before walking room behind it. Give each piece clear space from the walls and from each other, and leave room to step back from the trainer. Two things get missed: ceilings and power. A StairMaster 4G needs an 8-foot ceiling; a Precor SCL 835 climber needs 9 feet 9 inches. The StairMaster 8G and 10G and TRUE Palisade run on a 15-amp outlet; the TRM 835 needs its own 20-amp circuit. Send us the room dimensions and we will lay it out.

How does delivery and installation work?

Locally, our crew carries it in and sets it up in the Treasure Valley. Garage-level delivery starts at $179; placement inside the building, upstairs or down, costs extra. New equipment can also ship by freight for a flat $350 to the lower 48 states. Used equipment is never shipped: store pickup or local delivery only.

Who services it after the sale?

We do. Three full-time technicians service the equipment we sold at $129 an hour in the Boise area plus $2 a mile outside the Treasure Valley. We offer scheduled preventive maintenance programs for health clubs, hotels, apartments and schools. Does used commercial equipment come with a warranty?

Most of it carries our 90-day warranty. Consignment pieces are sold as-is with no warranty. Ask which applies to the piece you are looking at.
