Power Plate Vibration Plates in Boise

Gym Outfitters carries Power Plate, the vibration-plate brand used in physical-therapy clinics and pro sports facilities, at our Boise showroom. You can stand on one before you buy, which matters more with a vibration plate than with almost anything else we sell.

What a vibration plate actually does

The platform vibrates in three planes, roughly 25 to 50 times a second depending on the model. Your muscles reflexively contract to keep you balanced, so a simple squat, plank or stretch on the plate recruits more muscle than the same move on the floor. People use them for warm-up, mobility, circulation and recovery, and for strength work when joints won't tolerate heavy loads. Physical therapists like them for exactly that reason.

It is not a machine that does the workout for you. It makes the movement you do on it harder.

Used Power Plates

Used Power Plates come in only now and then, so we can't promise one will be in stock. Every used unit we sell is inspected and serviced by our own technician, and most carry our 90-day warranty. Used equipment is in-store pickup or local delivery only; we do not ship it. If no used Power Plate is listed in our used equipment right now, call 208-345-2226 and ask.

Before you buy

  • Floor and placement. They are heavy and they vibrate; a ground floor or a solid slab is best. We deliver locally: garage delivery starts at $179, and in-home placement costs extra.
  • Power. Check the power requirements for the specific model before you buy, or call 208-345-2226 and ask.
  • Who should check with a doctor first. Anyone pregnant, with a pacemaker, recent surgery, acute joint injury or a history of blood clots. Power Plate publishes its own list; we will point you to it.
  • Space. The MOVE needs roughly a yoga mat's footprint. The my5 and pro8 need standing room around the column.
