What should I check before buying a used rack, bench or cable machine?
Pull every cable through its full travel under load; it should run quiet with no fraying. Check guide rods, selector pins, upholstery and welds. On a rack, rock it and inspect the J-hooks and safety bars.
From our technicians: we replace frayed cables and worn pulley bearings before a used cable machine is listed; a failing cable is the one real hazard on strength equipment.
Every used machine we sell is inspected and serviced by our own technicians before it goes on the floor. Used equipment, including consignment pieces, carries a 90-day guarantee. Used equipment is available for showroom pickup or local delivery in the Treasure Valley — we don't ship used items.

Can you install a used rack or functional trainer in my garage?
